Elementary Choral Festival
The 2024 VMEA 4th/5th Grade Choir Festival will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 (Snow Date: Friday, March 29, 2024) at Champlain Valley Union High School with guest conductor, Andy Himelick, a K-5 teacher from Indiana, staff member of the Indianapolis Children's Choir, and FAME Teacher Trainer. This festival will feature Andy's NEW choral works published by FAME and GIA!
Concert Repertoire from Sing in Parts Volumes 1 & 2:

These songs are a mix of 2-pt and 3-pt arrangements that contain plenty of unison singing, partner songs, and ostinati and bass-lines to elevate these songs for choral performance.

Participation Fees:

Arrive, check in, get name tag & original music for rehearsal/concert 9:00 am

Set up/Rehearsals start at 9:30 am

Breaks as needed until 12:00 pm (as per conductor request)

Lunch (bag lunch brought from home) 12:00-12:30 pm (10 minutes for students to settle in)

Rehearse from 12:40-3:30 pm

Snack break/celebration 3:30-4:00

4:00 pm - Change/warm up and dress rehearsal

5:00 pm doors open & 5:30 pm Concert
What is concert dress?
Children can wear anything that is presentable as per your school dress policy for concerts.

$6.00 students and seniors
$8.00 adult
$20.00 family
Teachers are responsible for communication with their own students and parents about this festival.
