Vermont Association of Jazz Education

VERMONT Association of Jazz Education (VtAJE) is alive and well. We had an inspiring meeting last spring to see what we could do to continue the tradition of providing quality music festival experiences for our middle & high school jazz musicians, and have decided to continue with a state-based chapter. To provide leadership for this new group through this transition, several jazz educators stepped forward to fill the needed roles: Glendon Ingalls, President; Rich Davidian, President-Elect; George Voland, Vice President; Joanne Scott, Secretary; & Steffen Parker, Treasurer & Festival Director.

To help support these efforts and consider other opportunities, we have established an annual membership for those that wish to participate and support this organization. Annual dues (good from July 1st to June 30th) are $35 and can be mailed to Steffen Parker, 141 Butternut Road, Williston, VT 05495 (checks made out to VtAJE).

The Flynn Jazz Festival was a great success - Thanks to all who helped or participated. The Johnson Jazz Fest, while conflicting with some school vacations, will be held on April 30th. Click on the appropriate links below for current information.

A discussion about joining JazzNet as a national organization will begin at the Jazz Meeting at this year's All State Music Festival (Thursday, May 6th in Rutland) and a summer meeting to discuss that and all aspects of our organzation will be scheduled soon.
